Jack White
Head Coach
Email
He’s logged three decades with El Paso
Aqua Posse - 6 years as a swimmer and 24 as a coach.
And over that span, EPAP Head Coach Jack White has so many
memorable moments, he can’t pick just one favorite.
Among them: several high point TAGs winners; coaching a
Junior National 100 Fly champ; sending 2 Aqua Posse swimmers to the
Olympics to swim on the Mexican team; sending two local swimmers to
the Olympic trials in 2000.
The kids are what keep Coach Jack coming
back. His quiet, encouraging way is complimented by his
disciplined dedication. Coach Jack shares his strong work
ethic with all of the older Aqua Posse swimmers. That leaves
the younger swimmers in awe, giving them a goal to work
toward: swimming in “Jack’s group.”
When he’s not coaching EPAP, Coach Jack
is Head Coach for the Cathedral High swim team where he also
teaches Social Studies. He is married to Karen and they have
two sons, one of him enjoys a little extra time with Dad because
they commute to EPAP practices together!

It’s a family thing for
Coach Jeff. He and his brothers and sisters all swam for El
Paso Aqua Posse, so it’s no wonder he’s part of the
EPAP leadership team! Jeff has been coaching for Aqua Posse
for 13 years. He’s also the head coach of the
Hanks High School swim team. The life-long El Pasoan attended
Coronado High. His favorite strokes are Butterfly, any
distance, and the 500 Free.
When he’s not poolside
(which isn’t often!), Jeff enjoys relaxing at home.
One Aqua Posse swimmer describes her favorite coach this
way: “Coach Jeff cares. He’s the
best!”

LeAnn Carr
Senior Assistant Coach (Armijo Pool)

As a child, LeAnn was not allowed to swim at any public
pools. One summer day, her mom finally gave in and allowed
LeAnn and her brothers to go swimming at a brand new public pool.
They struck up a conversation with a friendly fellow who
asked the kids to swim the distance of the pool. When they
finished, he shook their hands and declared “Welcome to Aqua
Posse!” That man was Leo Cancellare, and that man is
the reason we have LeAnn today!
LeAnn’s been an Aqua Posse coach for 15 years.
She’s also coached summer and private league swimming and is
an instructor with the UTEP Physical Education department.
Her favorite thing to do when she’s not coaching is
work-out…so that she can eat some of the fabulous food she
loves to cook!
